There is no doubt that the story of singer Jennifer Knapp declaring her homosexuality has rattled many in the evangelical world. Rather than do what many have done–react hastily without watching the interview–I would encourage you to watch the video and read Scripture (Romans 1, 1 Cor. 6:9-10, Ephesians 5:22-33) so you can engage people in honest conversation while understanding God’s design for marriage/purity. For those of us who follow Christ, the hot-button issues are not going away, and we need to understand the way people think. The ultimate authority is the inerrant, timeless truths of The Bible. May this be our standard rather than what we hear from others.

I watched the video, however I see Romans 1 to be very clear on the subject of homosexuality. I don’t believe we can take Scripture and interpret it the way we want to fit our moral standards. I know God still loves those who are homosexual, but believe strongly that this is still wrong.
